Duguid overseeing national cleanup

Minister of Housing and Lands Dr William Duguid is spearheading Government’s national cleanup campaign, which continues today.

The minister, who is also the national co-ordinator, sent up a drone this morning over the Ministry of Transport, Works and Water Resources to inspect the photovoltaic panels on the roofs.

Following that inspection, the team, which includes Chief Surveyor at the Lands and Surveys Department David McCollin, moved on to the National Housing Estates in the neighbouring Pine, St Michael, to inspect the structures in the oldest housing scheme on the island.

Ash fall from the La Soufriere volcano in St Vincent and the Grenadines continue to affect the island following eruptions which began last Friday.

A team from the NHC was on site at Wildey, cleaning the drains and bagging ash for later collection by the Sanitation Service Authority. (RA)
