The team of journalists arrived safely in St Vincent and the Grenadines as the HMBS Rudyard Lewis docked at the Cruise Ship Berth just around 11:30 a.m. after a ten-hour trip on the seas.

The first impression approaching the capital Kingstown is there is not much evidence that the country is still being affected by eruptions of La Soufriere volcano.

The scenes of an ash-covered city are no more, as much of the grey material was removed, and with clear skies, at least for the moment, commerce is taking place at almost normal levels.

Several boats and one cruise ship vessels are busy getting on with task of offloading relief supplies.

The Barbados Coast Guard brought troops from the Barbados Defence Force as well as the Royal Barbados Police Force to assist with security on the island. Additionally, crew from the vessel will spend the next two days offloading relief supplies.  (CLM)
