The Port of Bridgetown will return to full operations on Monday, April 19, with the reopening of Shed 4 (Commercial cargo) and Shed 2 (personal effects).

A statement said, however, that Port entry and cargo delivery continue to be by appointment only.

“The Port will also continue to work vessels and make container deliveries as it has done during most of last week.”

The statement said “extensive clean-up of roadways and operational areas has been undertaken and efforts will continue to mitigate against the ongoing impacts of volcanic ash”.

“Monitoring of the environmental conditions will also continue to ensure the operational spaces are safe and without risks to health.”

Barbados has been significantly affected by ash from explosive eruptions of the La Soufriere Volcano in St Vincent which began on April 9 and curtailed business activity. (PR)
