The Bridgetown Fish market reopened yesterday though ash and dust remained an issue.

The fisheries complex was closed April 10 due to the ashfall as a result of the erupting La Soufriere volcano in St Vincent.

Senior manager of markets Eric Lewis said they were strict protocols in place.

“We are asking the vendors to keep their fish covered and we are also asking they only work on one at a time. Vendors are also asked to keep cleaning their work spaces,” he said.

Vendors reported they were waiting to see how things would go. (CA)
