BMA pays tribute to Elias Azan

Following is a statement from the Barbados Manufacturers’ Association on the passing of entrepreneur Elias Azan.

“The Council of Management of the Barbados Manufacturers’ Association (BMA) is saddened to hear of the passing of Mr Elias Azan in Jamaica on Wednesday.

“While living in Barbados, Mr Azan’s company, Alamac Manufacturing Co. Ltd, became a member of the Barbados Manufacturers’ Association. Over an eight-year period, Mr Azan held a number of positions in the Association including chairman of a number of sub-groups, [second] and [first] vice president as well as acting president for a short time.

“His contribution to the manufacturing sector in Barbados should not go unnoticed. His passionate and innovative thinking has influenced the landscape of modern manufacturing.

“The BMA extends condolences to his wife, children, other family members and the business community of Jamaica.

“May he rest in peace.” (PR)
