17 new COVID cases

Barbados recorded 17 new positive cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday, April 28, from among 320 tests conducted by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory.

The new positives comprise two females and 15 males.

Additionally, there were nine recoveries while 92 people remain in isolation.

There were 3 855 confirmed cases of COVID-19 (1 872 females and 1 983 males) since the first case was diagnosed in March, last year.  A total of 3 768 people recovered from the virus. Forty-four people died from COVID-19.

The public health laboratory conducted 153 036 tests, to date.

Under the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19, 73 931 vaccinations to 30 558 men and 43 373 women were administered. (BGIS)
