Fresh off wins astride Abramax on Wednesday and Belfast Boy on Thursday, jockey Rocco Bowen goes into today’s Oaklawn Park meet final day looking to finish strong in the feature US$300 000 Oaklawn Stakes astride Causeway Jones in Hot Springs, Arkansas.

Rounding into his best form of late, Bowen booted the four-year chestnut filly Abramax in Race 4, a Claiming six-furlong sprint.

Lucky Every Day went to the lead from Joy In The Journey, while Abramax recovered from a slow start and took up a stalking position outside the leaders in third place. Lucky Every Day ran 22.05 seconds for the first quarter mile, 45.55 seconds passing half mile and the five furlongs in 58.27 seconds.

Abramax then challenged for the lead entering the homestretch going clear under heavy urging when she held on by a neck to deny Beauty Day in 1:11.40 minutes. (LY)
