PORT OF SPAIN – A panel of experts will come together to discuss “The Future of Work and a Sustainable Caribbean Society” when the University of the West Indies (UWI) Arthur Lok Jack Global School of Business launches a new series of webinars called, “The Business Roundtable Series”.

The inaugural Business Roundtable webinar takes place on Wednesday, May 19, at noon and can be viewed “live” on the Facebook page of the Trinidad-based, Global School of Business.

The discussion will be led by faculty member, Dr Jan Sookram, and features a panel, including Dr Paula Thomas, Stephen Sheppard and Curt Wellington.

The Business Roundtable Series is the brainchild of Global School of Business chief executive officer Mariano Browne, and academic director, Dr Ron Sookram.

The series is intended to be a monthly event taking place online and featuring several Caribbean business leaders, UWI alumni and faculty, as they discuss the hard issues facing business in the Caribbean and their views on how it should be addressed.

The webinars are meant to provide a forum for Caribbean organisations in the private and public sector to share their experiences, and discuss solutions for shared problems in business across industries and markets.

Future webinars in the Business Roundtable series will discuss themes of industrial relations governance, the modernisation of regional financial systems and the Caribbean economy in a post-pandemic world. (AR)
