Three women test positive for COVID

The Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory recorded three new positive COVID-19 cases – all females – on Tuesday, May 18, from the 428 tests conducted.

Thirty people also recovered from the virus and were discharged. There are currently 59 people in isolation.

Barbados recorded 3 975 confirmed COVID-19 cases (1 923 females and 2 052 males) since March, last year, and 3 965 persons recovered.  The virus claimed 47 lives.

Since February 2020, the public health laboratory carried out 163 940 tests.

There were 76 045 people vaccinated against COVID-19 (first and second doses) under the National Vaccination Programme.  This figure includes 47 132 who were fully immunised during the second phase of the programme. (BGIS)
