Staff of the National Union of Public Workers (NUPW) stopped work today, concerning issues with salary payments for May.

General secretary Wayne Walrond said this occurred after salary cheques were not signed in a timely fashion.

Walrond said a similar situation had happened in the past, but this was “the straw that broke the camel’s back”.

Walrond said there was a similar incident at the National Assistance Board (NAB) last week and the NUPW stood in solidarity with those workers.
