Chamber of Commerce has new president

The Barbados Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) has a new president.

Anthony Branker, an experienced businessman with a wealth of knowledge in the retail and distributive sectors, was elected to lead the organisation during the BCCI’s virtual annual general meeting Monday. He once served as senior vice president.

Brancker is currently an assistant vice president with Massy Distribution Barbados Ltd responsible for the Health & Beauty Division, the Shipping Division and Knights Ltd, a portfolio he has held for two  years. He started out as a brand manager with BS&T in 1999.

In recent years, with his hands-on experience in International Logistics and Distribution, coupled with training in Management Studies, he successfully led the effective introduction of a “Narrow Aisle” Distribution Warehouse as well as the transformation of several Management processes.

He is also president of the Lifetime Cooperative Credit Union and First Elder of the Pinelands SDA Church.

Branker succeeds Trisha Tannis, CEO of Unicomer (Barbados) Limited who served as president for two consecutive terms and will continue to serve on the executive committee as immediate past president. Other members of the new executive are James Clarke, senior vice president; Joan Betty Brathwaite, vice president- finance; Vidia Woods, vice presisdent and Misha Lobban-Clarke, the Chamber’s executive director.
