Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc. (BTMI) has a new interim chief executive officer.
He is Craig Hinds, who was identified in the new position during the annual general meeting of the Barbados Hotel and Tourism Association (BHTA) on Wednesday.
Hinds is filling the position left vacant following the resignation in April of Barbadian tourism stalwart Petra Roach, who held the interim post for six months while she was substantively BTMI’s head of global markets.
Hinds is listed on LinkedIn, the world’s largest professional network on the Internet, as a professional accountant and former regional head of Financial Planning and Analysis for telecommunications company Digicel.
He became chief financial officer of the BTMI in January 2020. The BTMI has been without a CEO since December 31, 2019, when William “Billy” Griffith tendered his resignation as his contract came to an end.
It was recently revealed that more than 150 individuals have already applied for the post of CEO of Barbados’ leading tourism marketing agency. (GC)
