Minister of Housing Dr William Duguid has slammed the previous Democratic Labour Party administration for leaving $5 million worth in trucks and other equipment to rust since 2013.

He labelled it “a total disgrace and a gross mismanagement of taxpayer money”.

Duguid was speaking to the media yesterday following the handing over of the refurbished old Barbados Water Authority (BWA) headquarters to the Quantity Surveying Department.

He said 13 trucks, each accompanied with a “Bobcat” and trailer, were left to deteriorate at the end of the National Enhancement Environmental Programme under the Drainage Unit.

He added that of the trucks now parked at the back of the old BWA building in The Pine, St Michael, they managed to save three, as well as most of the trailers and one “Bobcat”. (CLM)
