Wanted man shot and killed by police

The man who was the subject of a wanted notice was shot and killed in Lower Gills Road, St Michael on Thursday after reportedly exchanging gunfire with police.

He was identified as Kiastan Hallen Clarke, 27 years, of 2nd Avenue Green Hill, St Michael, the subject of a wanted man bulletin issued on June 8, 2021.

A release from the police said based on information received, a mobile patrol encountered a vehicle on the road and “had reason to stop” it in The City community. Two people got out and fled, while a third person “was armed with a firearm and engaged the police, police fired in an effort to defend themselves” and the man was injured.

Clarke, alias Notchy, was later pronounced dead at the scene by a medical doctor. He was wanted in connection with serious criminal matters.  (PR/SAT)
