Only 8 in COVID isolation

The COVID-19 positivity rate continues to be stable, while vaccination numbers increase.

On Friday, June 18, only one case of COVID-19, a male, was diagnosed from the 558 tests conducted by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory.

There were eight people in isolation.

Meanwhile, 91 495 residents received their first doses under the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19.  The number of people who were given second doses and are now fully vaccinated is 65 348.

Barbados recorded 4 041 confirmed cases of COVID-19 – 1 953 females and 2 088 males.  The virus claimed 47 lives.

To date, the public health laboratory has carried out 179 492 tests. (BGIS)
