Management of Sheraton Mall is strongly denying there was a breach of COVID-19 health protocols at the Olympus Theatres during one of its movie nights last week.

General manager of the mall, Kelley Stoute, told the DAILY NATION yesterday there was a misconception regarding a photo making the rounds on social media showing a large gathering of people at the cinema on Wednesday night.

“They (Olympus Theatres) didn’t break any protocols. It looked that way from a distance because of how the picture was taken,” she said.

“If somebody comes with their entire family and you have them in one spot and another family comes and are in another spot, they are not necessarily close to the other family, but it may appear that you are bunching because there are so many people in one section.

“But it was not a case that it was really crowded outside. People were on the physical distance markers, which are now three feet apart instead of six.” (SB)
