No face-to-face classes, CXC exams to continue

No face-to-face classes will be held across Barbados on Wednesday, says Chief Education Officer Joy Adamson.

In light of flash-flood and thunderstorm warnings being issued by the Barbados Meteorological Services until noon, the Ministry of Education is advising that all classes move to an online environment today.

However, those children who are writing exams being held under the auspices of the Caribbean Examinations Council, both CAPE and CSSEC, of which the Ministry has no control, are asked to try to make their way to their school.

In a statement issued today, Adamson said if students were unable to get to their school, they could go to the nearest examination centre and the supervisor would try to assist. The ministry “will put all things in place to allow the students to write the examination from that centre”, she advised. (PR/SAT)
