Mum heard arguing, then loud noise

A mother yesterday recalled how her son Jason Carter and his cousin Renaldo Carter were arguing over Weetabix before she heard a “loud noise”.

When she looked outside, she saw her son on the ground.

Sandra Carter told the No 5 Supreme Court she had just come out of the shower and had gone into her bedroom on New Year’s Day, 2015, when she heard a quarrel between the two cousins.

She could not hear all of what they were saying but Renaldo subsequently came into her room and told her “Jason wouldn’t give him anymore Weetabix”.

“I asked Renaldo how many he had and I think he said he had two but he wanted more than two,” she testified. (HLE)
