Samantha Somersall saw a photograph on social media of the mangled car which her fiancé drove.

But she did not want to believe that Mark Anthony Watson, the man whom she described as generous and her backbone, was gone.

However, after making several calls and asking his close friend to check up on him, she came face to face with one of her worst fears.

Watson died in a collision, which occurred around 3:30 p.m. Saturday along the Adams section of the ABC Highway between the Henry Forde Roundabout and the Bannatyne Road junction.

The crash involved a truck and the car Watson drove. Police said the vehicles were travelling in opposite directions. (TG)
