Vendors against moving after fence goes up

It appears that the vendors who ply their trade near the Cheapside van stand in The City may have to find a new location to sell their produce.

They complained they were being barred from selling in that area as that activity was being deemed as hazardous.

One of the irate vendors, who did not want to be identified, said: “There are about 15 people who sell along that stretch. They (Transport Authority) erected a fence and told us we can’t sell here anymore because it is dangerous. But we have been selling here for a while and this is our livelihood.

“It is not fair, the Government put us here. Spaces were marked out for us to sell here.” (SB)
