Barbadian cyclists Jamol Eastmond and training partner Edwin Sutherland are seeking qualification to the ongoing Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) Track Cycling Nations Cup and the 2021 Road World Championships in Belgium, September 19 to 26.

Both are keen to improve on their rewarding experience at the Pan American Track Cycling Championship in Peru where Eastmond copped the silver medal in the men’s scratch race and Sutherland finished fifth in the elimination race and competed in the Madison and the Points race.

The lone female Barbadian rider Amber Joseph was the most successful of the trio, securing the gold medal in the women’s scratch race and a bronze medal in the Points race.

Eastmond is currently in Barbados making final preparations to depart on Tuesday and join Sutherland in Pennsylvania, where they will compete in the UCI’s T-Town Summer Games’ Fastest Man and Woman on Wheels event from August 6 to 7 for a chance to gain UCI qualifying points to the Nations Cup and World Championships.
