Savings Plus burglary accused to appear in court

Two men charged with aggravated burglary at a St Michael supermarket are scheduled to appear in the District A Magistrate’s Court on Monday.

They are Michael Lee Yearwood, 21 years, of 7th Avenue New Orleans, St Michael and Kareem Onan Vaughn 26 years of Literary Row, St Michael.

The incident occurred last Friday around 12:45 p.m.

Yearwood is charged with the following offences:

  • Did have in his possession one firearm and did not have a valid licence to do so.
  • Did have in his possession two rounds of ammunition and did not have a valid permit to do so.
  • Assaulted Mauricio Chase, Sergeant of Police, a member of the Royal Barbados Police Force to prevent the lawful apprehension of himself.
  • Theft of $1436.85 in cash and one cash pan valued $55 belonging to Savings Plus Supermarket and at the time was armed with a firearm and a weapon of offence, a cutlass.
