Five new virus cases

Five new coronavirus (COVID-19) cases, one male and four females, were recorded by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory. There were 1 619 tests conducted on Tuesday, July 27.

The number of people in isolation is 149.

Since the start of the pandemic, 4 364 confirmed cases of COVID-19 (2 120 females and 2 244 males) have been recorded. The death toll from the virus is 48.

To date, the public health laboratory has carried out 214 259 tests.

The National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19 has seen 99 278 people receiving first doses of the vaccines. A total of 74 851second doses have been administered which represents 27.6 per cent of the population. (BGIS)
