Complainant: Our lives ruined

The pleas for forgiveness and written apologies from home invaders Alexander Patrick Alleyne and Travis Orin Campbell do not change anything, complainant Linda Brooks declared yesterday.

Their lives are still ruined, she said.

In addition, she dismissed the testimony of Alleyne’s character witness Nigel Jules, saying the life skills/boys’ mentoring programme, of which Alleyne had been a part, “obviously did not work” since Alleyne was the one who planned the attack on their home.

Brooks, the wife of paraplegic Kenneth Elliott who was shot and later became paralysed after Alleyne and Campbell invaded their home, as well as his brother Robert Elliott and Robert’s wife, were participating via Zoom when Alleyne and Campbell reappeared in the No. 4 Supreme Court yesterday.
