Five new virus cases

Five new cases of coronavirus (COVID-19), two females and three males, have been identified by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory. The facility conducted 1 056 tests on Monday, August 2.

The number of people in isolation is 112.

Since March 2020, confirmed cases of COVID-19 have reached 4 422 (2 147 females and 2 275 males). The death toll from the virus is 48.

A total of 221 564 tests have been carried out by the laboratory.

The National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19 has seen 99 925 people receive first doses of the vaccines. Additionally, 76 554 people or 28.2 per cent of the population have been administered second doses and are fully vaccinated. (BGIS)
