Barbadian sprint hurdler Shane Brathwaite finished sixth in a time of 13.64 seconds at the end of heat 2 of the men’s 110 metres hurdles at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games this morning.

Brathwaite clipped the sixth hurdle and that was enough to throw off his rhythm.

Asier Martinez of Spain was the pick of the sprinters in that heat, winning comfortably and advancing to the semi-finals later tonight, with a time of 13.32 seconds.

The final will be held tomorrow night. (NM)
