Two houses destroyed by fire in separate incidents

Two house fires destroyed two unoccupied houses today. The first occurred shortly after midnight In Berbice Road, Fitts Village St James.

Cheryl Browne said she, her son and her father were renting a house nearby as their home was under renovation. She said she felt devastated but thanked God no one was hurt. The house was insured.

The second fire destroyed the uninsured home of Anthony Gall in Savannah Road, Bush Hall, St Michael.

He said the roof was damaged during the recent freak storm. As a result, he was living in another house in nearby Military Road. Gall, who is a repairman, said he had stored electronic equipment, which was to be repaired, in the house. He said he lost the equipment, as well as a bed and clothes. (CA)
