Nine new COVID cases

The Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory identified nine new COVID-19 cases.

These are four males and five females from the 1 522 tests conducted on Sunday, August 8.

There are currently 111 people in isolation.

A total of 4 480 confirmed cases of the virus (2 177 females and 2 303 males) were recorded since the start of the pandemic. The death toll from the virus is 48.

Tests carried out by the laboratory have reached 230 548.

Public health officials inoculated 100 512 people with first doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, while 80 245 or 29.6 per cent of the population, received second doses and are fully vaccinated. (BGIS)
