30 per cent of population receive COVID-19 vaccine

Five people, one woman and four men, were diagnosed as COVID-19 positive from the 1 379 tests conducted by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory on Monday, August 9.

There are 111 people in isolation.

Barbados recorded 4 485 confirmed cases of COVID-19 (2 178 females and 2 307 males) since March 2020. The virus claimed 48 lives.

The laboratory carried out 231 927 tests to date.

Under the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-1, 100 573 people received first doses of the vaccine. Additionally, 80 752 were given second doses and are fully vaccinated. This figure represents 30 per cent of the population. (BGIS)
