A customer and an employee were injured during a robbery at Bayville Minimart, Bayville, St Michael, on Monday night.

A man carrying a firearm entered the minimart around 7:16 p.m. and demanded that the cashier put money into a plastic bag he gave to her.

He then went into the aisle and instructed a customer to put some liquor in the same plastic bag. During this exchange, a shot was fired, injuring the customer in the left knee. A female employee also sustained an injury to her left foot.

The assailant fled the scene.

The customer was taken by police to the Winston Scott Polyclinic for treatment, while the employee was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital by ambulance.

Police investigations are continuing. (PR/SAT)
