Kelly wins second cycling medal

Josh Kelly produced another outstanding performance to win Barbados’ third medal at the Caribbean Cycling Championships in the Dominican Republic.

The 25-year-old captured silver in the men’s elite time trial race and finished 51 seconds behind hometown boy and defending champion Augusto Sanchez- Beriguete who clocked 53:37 in the 40k contest.

Kelly struck gold in the men’s 90-kilometre road race on Thursday.

His younger brother Jacob was fifth in the Under-23 men’s time trial, while 60km gold medallist Amber Joseph opted out of the Under-23 women event.

Jacob and Joseph will contest the Pan American Under-23 road races on Saturday.
