The woman who was found hanging this morning was identified as Charmaine Merchant.
The 39 year old Jamaican was living at #106 Willow Drive, Ruby Park, St Philip.
Residents said they were alerted to the incident in the wee hours of the morning and this was the first time something of this nature occurred in the neighbourhood.
They said the house was a rented property and there had been a number of tenants living there over the years.
