120 in COVID isolation

The Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory identified 21 new COVID-19 cases – 10 males and 11 females – from the 1 233 tests conducted on Monday, August 16.

There are currently 120 people in isolation.

Since the start of the pandemic, Barbados recorded 4 581 confirmed cases of the viral illness (2 231 females and 2 350 males), and 48 deaths.

The public health laboratory conducted 241 539 tests.

To date, 101 149 first doses were administered under the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19.

Meanwhile, 86 141 people or 31.8 per cent of the population, received their second dose, and are fully vaccinated. (BGIS)
