Accused Marc Reid said he was only defending himself and “wasn’t looking to hurt anyone” on the evening of August 30, 2017.

“The way them did spread out, I couldn’t escape. Them start to throw rocks at me and they had a knife,” he said yesterday.

The accused, who opted to take the witness stand for sworn testimony in the No. 2 Supreme Court, recalled two prior incidents involving witness Shaquon Cumberbatch, complainant Donte Alleyne and other youngsters.

He said on August 29, he was sitting near the church in Sion Hill, St James, when they “come and interfere with me”.

He was sitting by himself, he added. (HLE)
