13 more test positive for COVID

Thirteen new cases of COVID-19, six females and seven males, were reported by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory from 1 381 tests on Tuesday, August 17.

The number of people in isolation is 127.

Confirmed COVID-19 cases recorded since March 2020 reached 4 594 (2 237 females and 2 357 males), and the virus claimed 48 lives.

A total of 242 920 tests were conducted by the laboratory.

Public health officials administered 101 228 first doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, while 87 096 people received second doses.  Those who are fully vaccinated represent 32.1 per cent of the population. (BGIS)
