Nearly 140 in isolation

Seven males and eight females are the most recent people to be diagnosed with COVID-19 from 1 364 tests conducted by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory on Wednesday, August 18.

There are 137 people in isolation.

Barbados recorded 4 609 confirmed cases of COVID-19 (2 245 females and 2 364 males) since March last year. The death toll from the virus is 48.

The public health laboratory has carried out a total of 244 284 tests.

As part of the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19, 101 370 first doses of the vaccine were administered, and 87 710 (32.4 per cent of the population) received second doses and are fully vaccinated. (BGIS)
