Adverse weather conditions forced the early stoppage of the second day of the Barbados Hockey Festival, but experienced outfit Du Badd can feel justified by their efforts yesterday with two wins and six goals to their name.

Du Badd will be thrilled after their 3-2 win over UWI Blackbirds in the men’s category that
was defined by a two-goal performance by Joel Bodkin.

Bodkin opened the scoring for Du Badd after six minutes when an interception in the midfield fell kindly to the former Trinidad & Tobago junior national and he lashed an instinctive shot
past the goalkeeper.

Two minutes later, Akobe Aymes put UWI to the sword once again to double Du Badd’s advantage, after a clean strike on goal was parried by the goalkeeper, but the subsequent rebound was controlled and expertly placed beyond the goalie’s reach. (NM)
