26 new COVID cases on Monday

The Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory identified 26 new COVID-19 cases, 14 males and 12 females, from 1 300 tests conducted on Monday, August 23.

There are 166 people in isolation.

Confirmed cases of the virus reached 4 694 (2 291 females and 2 403 males) since the start of the pandemic in March last year. The death toll from the viral illness is 48.

Since February 2020, the laboratory carried out 251 310 tests.

Under the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19, 103 822 first doses of the vaccine were administered.

The number of people who received second doses and are fully vaccinated is 91 186, representing 33.6 per cent of the population. (BGIS)
