The man who died in Friday night’s accident at the junction of KNR Husbands and Church Street, St Peter, has been identified as Lee Bovell.

The 39-year-old of Rose Hill, in the same parish, was attempting to cross the road when the incident occurred around 10:10 p.m.

According to police, the driver of the Mitsubishi Pajero which was involved in the accident, was travelling in a southerly direction on the highway approaching the traffic lights. A car was in the middle lane facing north, waiting to turn right to Church Street to head east, while Bovell was walking from the west side to the eastern side at the junction.

He was struck by the Pajero and sustained multiple lacerations to the body, including a deep one to his head. His right foot was also broken and he died on the spot.

A medical doctor pronounced Bovell dead on the scene and members of the family identified the body.

This is the 13th road fatality from 12 accidents in 2021. (PR/SAT)
