There has been no adjustment by Government to the 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. curfew time, as stated in Emergency Management (COVID-19) (Curfew) (No. 16) Directive, 2021.

The clarification comes in response to a WhatsApp message circulating on social media, which states that starting from today, Saturday, September 4, there will be a tightening on the restriction of movement, and as a result, a daily curfew will be imposed from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Further, it states that a curfew will be imposed from 5 p.m. on Friday, September 10, to 5 a.m. Monday, September 13, and from 5 p.m. on Friday, September 17, to 5 a.m., Monday, September 20.

This information does not apply to Barbados.

Barbadians are reminded to rely on information on the curfew and COVID-19 which is provided by the Government Information Service, and other credible information agencies and media houses.

The current directive came into effect on Sunday, August 29, and ends on Sunday, September 12. (BGIS)
