69 new COVID cases and 569 in isolation

The Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory identified 69 new cases of COVID-19 – 30 females and 39 males – from 1 303 tests conducted on Monday, September 6.

The new positives comprise 48 people who are 18 years-old and over, 20 under the age of 18, and one individual whose age is unknown.

There are 569 people in isolation.

Since March 2020, Barbados recorded 5 486 confirmed cases of COVID-19 (2 719 females and 2 767 males). The death toll from the virus is 51.

The public health laboratory carried out 275 511 tests.

First doses administered under the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19 number 116 546.  Meanwhile, 95 661 people or 35.3 per cent of the population received second doses of the vaccines and are now fully vaccinated. (BGIS)
