62 new virus cases

Sixty-two people –  29 females and 33 males – are the latest coronavirus (COVID-19) cases.  The Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory conducted 2 100 tests on Saturday, September 11.

The 62 new cases comprise 46 people who are 18 years old and over, and 16 under the age of 18.

There are currently 697 people in isolation.

Since the start of the pandemic, Barbados has recorded 5 906 confirmed cases of the viral illness (2 941 females and 2 965 males), and 52 deaths.

The public health laboratory has carried out 283 291 tests.

To date, 120 269 people have received first doses under the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19, and 96 345 people have received second doses, and are fully vaccinated. (BGIS)
