74 new COVID cases, 837 in isolation

Seventy-four people – 35 males and 39 females – are the latest COVID-19 cases from 1 759 tests conducted by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory on Saturday, September 18.

The new cases comprise 11 people under the age of 18, and 62 who are 18 years and older.  The age of one person is unknown.

There are currently 837 people in isolation.

Since the start of the pandemic, Barbados has recorded 6 527 confirmed cases of the viral illness (3 261 males and 3 266 females), and 58 deaths.

The public health laboratory has carried out 295 464 tests.

To date, 125 925 people received first doses under the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19, and 97 580 persons (36 % of the population) received their second dose and are fully vaccinated. (BGIS)
