UPDATE: No bail for man on traffic, gun and ammo charges

The motorist who allegedly led police on a high-speed chase earlier this month was remanded when he appeared on traffic, gun and ammunition charges yesterday.

Dario Jermaine Shorey, 28, of Hinds Gap, Halls Road, St Michael, was not required to plead, in the District “B” Magistrates’ Court, Horse Hill, St Joseph, to having a .22-calibre pistol and eight rounds of ammunition, as well as assaulting a lawman, on September 13.

He was also accused of driving a vehicle while he was not the holder of a driver’s licence; driving it without insurance; fraudulently using licence plates and not registering the vehicle with the Licensing Authority, also on September 13.

Shorey was also charged with driving without due care and attention; driving without reasonable consideration for other road users; dangerous driving, and failing to stop at the sound of the siren, on the same date. (HLE)
