169 new virus cases, 974 patients in isolation

The Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory recorded 169 new cases – 70 males and 99 females – on Friday, September 24. The facility conducted 1 990 tests.

Of the 169 new cases, 36 people are under the age of 18, and 131 are 18 years and older. The ages of two people are unknown.

There are 974 patients in isolation.

Barbados has recorded 7 401 confirmed cases (3 647 males and 3 754 females) of the viral illness, and 64 deaths, as at Friday.

The public health laboratory has performed 306 755 tests.

Under the National COVID-19 Vaccination Programme, 131 039 first doses have been administered. To date, 101 374 persons (37.4 per cent of the population) have received their second dose and are fully vaccinated. (BGIS)
