Alleyne gets promotion at Prison

Vincent Alleyne has been appointed Assistant Superintendent of Prisons, Administration.

On Tuesday, Superintendent of Prisons, Lieutenant Colonel John Nurse, presented Alleyne with his Letter of Appointment to the post, which takes effect from October 1.

Currently, Alleyne functions in the post of Assistant Chief Officer. He has been a Prison Officer for 25 years, and during the period 2007 to 2016, he was seconded to the Criminal Justice Research and Planning Unit as a Senior Research Analyst.

On learning of the successful outcome of his application, Alleyne expressed his appreciation and stated that he was ready to function in this new management role.

Alleyne holds a Master’s degree in Applied Criminal Justice and Criminology from the University of Wales, Swansea. He also has a Bachelor’s degree from the University of the West Indies.

Management and staff of the Barbados Prison Service lauded Alleyne on his achievement and look forward to his administrative leadership and effective management of the Human Resources Department. (BGIS)
