Unbeaten mare seeking to be Queen

Having passed her first four assignments with aplomb, the unbeaten mare Queen Of Pitons will face a stern examination around 4:25 p.m. today on the Barbados Turf Club’s 11th day dubbed The Passing Parade Raceday.

The Stephan Narinesingh mare steps up against the top-class horses rated 140-120 and below at the Garrison Savannah in the seventh race – the Elias Haloute Memorial Handicap.

Since her maiden win in Barbados on October 24 last year she has solidified her status by obliterating all before her.

The Andrew “Busha” Nunes five-year-old mare suffered a little injury setback after winning her last outing, the Stadium To The Garrison Kadooment Handicap on July 16. Once at her best there is little here to suggest the queen won’t make it five wins in succession. (LY)
