Barbados will begin to feel the effects of a tropical wave from Monday evening through Tuesday morning.

The Barbados Meteorological Services is closely monitoring the progress of the wave which was located near 51W at 2 p.m. Sunday.

The intensity of the convection associated with this wave has been fluctuating throughout the day. Some slow development is likely as the system encounters a marginally favourable environment over the next few days.

Scattered moderate to heavy showers, thunderstorms and gusty winds are possible. This may result in flood watches or warnings being issued on Monday afternoon if conditions warrant, but at present, no warnings or watches are in effect for Barbados.

Members of the public are advised to follow official updates on this system. The nest update is scheduled for 6 a.m. Monday. (PR/SAT)
