Less than two weeks into the decision by public health authorities to green light widespread home isolation in Barbados, Barbadians are still trying to escape the facilities in an attempt to do basic chores like going to the supermarket.

This behaviour, says head of the COVID Monitoring Unit, Ronald Chapman, is putting he and his team under pressure.

He made the comments while a guest on Starcom Network’s radio call-in programme, Sunday Brasstacks.

“We are having severe challenges now. These are challenges we wanted to avert when we started putting persons in quarantine facilities and structured isolation,” Chapman told moderator Corey Lane and special host David Ellis, Government’s COVID-19 Public Advisor.
