Shane Doan one to beat

Shane Doan, flawless in his last four starts, will today seek to extend his victory streak to five consecutive wins when he competes in the featured Amory Philips GCM Memorial Handicap over 1 100 metres at the Garrison Savannah.

This seven-year-old gelding, the property of Fab Five, becomes the third horse from trainer Andrew Nunes’ stable to target such a feat this year.

The others who failed in their quest to prolong their winnings, were Dominus, who lost to Zagan and Queen Of Piton who streak was snapped by Speed Franco.

Shane Doan’s regular pilot Rickey Walcott has been meticulous with his execution of those successes and today’s task against horses rated 95-75 bring about a similar motion.

Those looking to end his streak will have a tough assignment as Sir Jimmy, Joshua and Voldemort have all felt his furry during this year. (LY)
